Blending a unique balance of abstract and realism, Lauren Alexandra is creating what she describes as
"Attractive, organized chaos. If we aren't creating, then what the hell are we doing here?"
Lauren has been enthralled with all forms of art since the moment she could handle a paintbrush. She won her first art competition at 5 years old-as a result her art was featured in the county-wide school calendar outside of Nashville, TN, and displayed in the winner's gallery. She continued to win this honor numerous times throughout her grade school years. At 17 years old, Lauren's painting, 'Roma', inspired from her trip to Italy, was featured at the Frist Art Museum in downtown Nashville. Recently, her photography was featured on Canon's website, and had an art show publication in The Tennessean.
After studying Visual Art at MTSU, Lauren continued painting, graphic design, and photography on the side, while also pursuing her love for music. Her commissions range from paintings, music venue flyers, company logos, billboard design, photography, and designing souvenir pins for Hard Rock Café Nashville for a decade.
She is constantly pursuing her passion for art, even when she's playing bass on tour with the rock band, Sin Shake Sin.
Lauren's art is now available at The Artisan Hatchery in the historic downtown Gallatin square outside of Nashville, TN. Her opening night was the most successful event in sales in the history of the gallery.
Extracting elements from the real world and enhancing them with abstract ideas from the mind, Lauren Alexandra creates a blend of unique, organized chaos with mixed mediums. In addition to graphic design and photography, her prime focus in visual art features an array of acrylics, oil paint, pen and ink, and even spray paint to demonstrate her love for street art.
"The first time I visited Europe at 16, there was art. Everywhere. On the sidewalk, in the metro/subway tunnels, on the walls, on buildings. The vibrant colors and intricate design called to me from every corner. It was beautiful. It changed the way I visualized my own art, and contributed to the evolution of where my art is now."
This could be endless, but let's simplify it to this-
Travel, exploring Mother Nature, Music, the Mind, You.
Lauren Alexandra draws this inspiration to create something positive and bold, to entice the senses in what can be an intense, dark world at times.
"Life is short-surround yourself with beautiful art, inspiring music, kindred spirits, and a nice bottle of red wine."
